About Me

My psychotherapeutic training and experience spans clinical psychology, counselling psychology, psychotherapy, coaching and mediation.

My masters is in psychotherapy and counselling (Regent’s College, 2002), and my doctorate is in clinical psychology (Illinois School of Professional Psychology) (2005). I have additional specialised training in a number of different modalities.

I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and an HCPC-Registered Counselling Psychologist in the UK.

American by birth, I am now based in London.

Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.

Approach

I work with individual adults and couples. When meeting with people remotely, I strive to achieve a sense of presence and close working. Please feel free to schedule a brief chat so we can determine if psychological therapy with me is the best choice for you.

My therapeutic approach is individualised for each client, and I see the therapeutic process as being jointly created between the therapist and the client, making for a unique relationship and a unique piece of work.

In adapting my style to what suits you best, I am able to draw upon a variety of theories and techniques. I was trained in and am experienced with cognitive-behavioural, existential, humanistic, psychodynamic, and systemic approaches, and am particularly interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Regardless of what kind of therapy you have or what kind of label is attached to it, the most important things are that therapy feels useful and helpful to you, and that you are safe and supported within the relationship.
